I was raised in Reno, Nevada. From an early age I had my eyes on the ground. I was constantly picking up rocks. I suppose I'm part crow, attracted to bright, shiny objects. This later translated into full pockets and an extra heavy backpack on all camping trips. Eventually I became interested in lapidary (cutting cabochon gemstones) and under the mentorship of my uncle began making jewelry at age 15.
I continued my jewelry education metalsmithing at Cabrillo College and received my BA in Art (jewelry/metals emphasis) at Humboldt State University. I have shown my work at local and national craft fairs and, and have been employed by various jewelry stores on the North Coast as a bench jeweler.
I utilize both cast and fabrication techniques in my metal work. I enjoy my bench time, especially the careful consideration of process when designing an object. Serendipity almost always enters the process and provides a departure point for further exploration in my next work.
Ultimately the highest compliment I'm paid is to see one of my works being worn.
I offer my design skills for bespoke custom jewelry as well as jewelry repair services. Call me for an appointment
