Membership Information

Our Co-op provides:

• Year-round sales and exposure in a prime retail location

• Guaranteed quality control and space for your work

• Opportunity for larger shows in our Featured Artist space

• Higher sales proceeds to artists (80%)

• The opportunity to work with other artists and have input on gallery operations

Each member contributes:

• A non-refundable initiation fee of $300 plus $120 first and last month’s dues to join

• $60 a month ongoing for member dues

• Gallery-sitting (varies with seasonal hours and number of members, currently 1-3 half-days per month)

• 20% commission on sales of your work, 10% of outside sales resulting from store exposure.

• Work on a committee

• Creative energy for decoration, display, new ideas

• Sharing the responsibilities of running the gallery and making business decisions

Arcata Artisans seeks dedicated, established artists to become members of our cooperative gallery/store in Arcata.
To qualify, you must be a serious artist, produce high-quality work on a regular basis and live and work in Humboldt County.
New members are approved by the existing membership, and brought in to the gallery as space is available. We often have a waiting list.
In addition to quality work, we seek artists who will expand the variety of our offerings, and who can contribute creative energy and practical skills to the operation of the business.
