Iíve been working with clay in some capacity since 1970. In the last two years my emphasis has been the slab-built form, rather than wheel thrown, allowing me to create movement with a touch (or heavy helping) of asymmetry. Currently Iím using standard high-fire techniques, with both porcelain and stoneware clays, with the occasional salt-fire thrown in for good measure. The teapot is one of my favorite shapes. It is bound by only a few required components yet there are endless possibilities with which to make each one individual. I enjoy adding whimsical elements on many of these pieces simply because they make me smile.
